About Us

Barberton Recovery Centre’s (BRC) desire is to bring healing and restoration to the whole person through love, respect and complete inner healing. Our classes are presented in English and are developed to change the person’s mindset through the renewal of the mind. We believe in working smart and our vision is focused, but above all carried out with compassion, whilst having fun and giving the person suffering from substance use disorder a taste of the good life once again during recovery.

Barberton Recovery Centre was established to support families suffering from the devastating consequences of drug and alcohol abuse. Close to the mountains just outside Barberton, it is a place where those in need of help can find restoration and recovery from addiction. Furthermore, we teach valuable life skills to enhance a resident’s capacity to rebuild their lives. BRC is also committed to drug prevention campaigns and educating scholars and families on a regular basis regarding the consequences of drug and alcohol abuse.

We are an in-patient treatment facility specializing in the treatment of substance and alcohol abuse. We run a faith-based program which includes the following:

Prevention – talks at Churches and support groups
Onsite social workers, doctor, psychologist and registered nurse

We also offer a drug testing facility – single testing, multiple testing and alcohol testing

Why our program

We are one of the most affordable facilities in South Africa. Our program provides a strong and effective balance between spiritual, physical, emotional, and medical aspects of recovery. We do not only create an environment for recovery but also assist to create an offset for the individuals to try and reintegrate them as active members of the community and economy.

    Recovery gives you a second chance at life

    Nestled in the foothills of Barberton, surrounded by views of the rolling mountains, the Barberton Recovery Centre, which is also a non-profit organisation, was founded three years ago by locals Pr Melissa Venter and Pr Duppie du Plessis.
